About
Our client’s brief was to design the amenity spaces for a new-build PBSA inspired by Berlin’s energy, rich history, and bold contrasts. Located just 30 minutes from the city centre, this 298-bed scheme marks 74’s first PBSA project in Germany and sets the direction for our client’s future developments.
The design reflects Berlin’s unique architectural mix, brutalist landmarks alongside ornate and baroque buildings. This blend of old and new shaped a series of contemporary amenity spaces that celebrate the city’s layered heritage.
The interior palette draws from materials typical to Berlin’s architecture, combining timber and concrete with textured finishes. The city’s iconic oxidised copper domes, with their evolving green patina, inspired a rich colour scheme that adds depth and character. Subtle golden accents, echoing the gilded details of Berlin’s historic landmarks, bring warmth and sophistication to the spaces.
